Have you ever felt like what could go wrong, was going wrong and no matter how hard you tried things did not seem to work out? It seems like when you take one step forward, you had to take two steps back. Each day you give it 110% percent but you just are not seeing the fruit of your labor? If that is you, the next thing you need to do is pray because each day you will experience some level of spiritual warfare and prayer is what allow you to turn the battle over to the Lord..
It is so easy to get caught up with our problem and situation, because of the stress, discomfort or frustration of the situation, you just want it to be resolve. Which causes you to take the bull by the horn and tackle the issue head on.
Lord knows if anyone is known to jump head in to tackle a problem, it would be me. But over the years, I have learned that my works is only half the battle and saying half is an overstated. My works is just a small piece of the puzzle. Praying to your Creator is a more powerful force that has to be at the forefront of your issues and circumstance. If you are ready for a shift in your life, remember these three things:
1.) You Can Do Nothing Without Him
The Words tells us in John 15:5 I am the vine, you are the branches, He who abide in me and I in Him bears much fruit, but apart from me, you can do NOTHING.
This scripture is so powerful. It says with God, you can do much but without HIM you can do NOTHING, ZIP, ZERO.
There have been many times in my life where I tried to resolve problems in my own strength. Often times it left me exalted and frustrated but when I lead things with prayer, things are much easier. When you lead with prayer, God gives you the guidance and direction you need, when you listen to His instructions, then the problem seems to shrink and resolving the issue becomes so much easier.
As a daughter of the King, your Father wants to please you but you must seek Him for guidance.
2.) Your Father Wants to Give You the Desires of Your Heart
John 15:7 If you abide in Me and my Word abide in you, you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you.
So the first order of business is abiding in Him, then He will abide in you, then you make your desire known to Him and He will do it.
Do not make the mistake of taking prayer as a simple exercise or regiment of a ‘quick' two minute chat or obligation as you lay in your bed at night or before you eat a meal; prayer is a life changing experience that helps you get in tune with God's plan and purpose for your life.
2.)God Has Given You Dominion Over Things
In addition God has given you power to take control of the things in your life. You exercise His power through prayer.
Known that you have dominion over the earth. In Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
While you were never meant to have dominion over other people, you do have dominion over things such as your thoughts, actions, attitude, your time, your goals and your aspirations. Which means you have dominion over your schedule, so you have to take the time out to sort out your day and following God's will, using prayer to command your day and your week. Each morning when you wake up, I challenge you to spend the first 15 minutes in quiet time with God. During this time, enter in prayer and command what is needed in your life. 3.) Command Your Morning with Prayer
Each morning when you prayer, be sure to command your morning. Commanding your morning is calling things as if they are already done in your life just as God instructs you to do in Romans 4:17 and believing in faith even though you do not see the results with your eyes. This is just not saying words out of your mouth. See the word “command” means to direct with authority, to give orders, to have control or authority over to rule. So when you go to command your morning, be sure to open your mouth, and speak from your diaphragm, do not be timid or shy but speak with boldness and confidence as if it is already done.
As you pray and command your morning, you can use this model for prayer
MODEL for Prayer |ACTS model;
A=Acknowledgement: A stands for ‘acknowledge’ who God is! He is our mighty God who cares for you. He died on the cross for our sins, and was raised again to glory! He is Jehovah-Rapah our Healer, Jehovah our provider, & El Shaddai - The Mighty One. Praise the Lord for these blessings.
C=Confession: Understand during your confession time with God, there is nothing wrong with admitting to God your shortcomings and sin, both the known and unknown wrongs you have done, and the things you have failed to do.
T=Thanksgiving: After receiving the forgiveness of Jesus, proceed to ‘thanksgiving’. Thank Him for everything He has done for you. Your very life is in His Hands; there is nothing that you do that He has not enabled you to perform.
When you start off your prayer basking in the glory of His presence, that same glory will rub off on you. You will begin to see God’s heart as our own; it will not be difficult for us.
S=supplication: Then, to approach our Heavenly Father with supplications. You make your requests known to God; you ask for healing for your mind or family member, you ask for help for your thought life, or you ask for a deeper walk with Him.
Prayer does not change God; and it does not necessarily change your circumstance. Prayer changes you by equipping you with everything you need to get through your current situation. Realize you have to depend on Him for the fabulous life He wants you to have.
Always remember to pray like it all depends on God and work like it all depends on you!
Make no mistake about it; God wants you to live abundantly above what you could ask or think. Do you believe His promises? Will you pray to Him starting today?
Be sure to stay connected!
