Reclaim Your Peace in the Midst of your Waiting!

"Be not weary in well doing for in due season, you will reap if you faint not" (Galatians 6:9)!!  That scripture has resonated in my mind and heart for some time now.  Every time I find myself getting weary, impatient or even annoyed by my personal situation; I have to quickly recall this scripture and repeat it over and over and over again.  I then have to travel over to Philippians and recite the Apostle Paul in Chapter 4 vs 12 when he said “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.  I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.”  I can’t speak for any of you but I have been waiting with great expectation for God to do some radical things in my personal life for quite a while now.  At times, I am able to go with God’s flow but other times, I do become a bit weary.  I become discouraged, discontent and annoyed that what God has promised me hasn’t come to past yet.  And if that isn’t enough, the enemy uses this opportunity to TRY and strip me of my peace and joy.  I am like ok God, really, you are going to make me wait another 6 months, 1 year or 3 years before you do what you have promised. I am just being completely honest with you.  I have those conversations with him when my flesh starts getting a little impatient with the process.  See, I understand the process and I know it’s necessary but honestly, I don’t always want to go through the process.  I know it doesn’t take God long to move on the behalf of his children so when it seems that I am waiting a bit too long, I have a flesh fit of my own.  I get all pouty and teary eyed before God hoping he will feel sorry for me.  When that doesn’t work (which is never), I then analyze my situation, my process and then my faith.  Oftentimes, I over analyze my situation and process even though I have no control over it, my only responsibility is to stand in faith and wait on God as long as it takes.

I wanted to share this with you because there are many of you at this place right now.  It seems like you have been waiting on God for what seems like forever to change your situation, move a roadblock, create a stepping stone, open a door, close a door, increase your finances, give you that business or ministry, give you a husband or whatever the case may be.  I certainly know that I am not alone in feeling this way.  Regardless of how saved we are, how strong our relationship with God is, at times we still go through periods of doubt.  Trust me, it is perfectly normal and it doesn’t make you any less saved or less desirable to God.  He knows that our human/flesh nature has a hard time being submissive to our spirit man and to Him.  He also knows that despite that, it is our due diligence to trust him in the waiting process.  He doesn’t want us to dwell on or in our situation because he knows that it will only discourage us from what he already promised.  Personally, I am constantly reminded of this and earlier today while lying in my bed I begin to say “I have learned to be content in whatever season I am in”…through my frustration, annoyance and impatience, I still recited repeatedly “ I have learned to be content in whatever season I am in”.  I can tell you that after a while, I actually fell asleep because the peace of God covered me and assured me to not be weary in well doing, but in due season, I will reap if I faint not.  Because I feel that so many others are constantly struggling with not being content and perhaps your inner peace and joy has been comprised for a moment, I want to share with you 5 Secrets to Claiming Your Peace in the Midst of you Waiting.  

1.      Don’t dwell on your current situation.  Trust that God is working it out right now.

2.      Know that God’s timing is impeccable. While you may feel he is taking forever, he is right on time.

3.      Go through the Process.  You won’t always be in the best mood or have the best mindset about your situation, but go through it and trust God in it.

4.      Exercise your faith muscle.  Find scriptures that speak to your situation, read/meditate on them daily and pray often.

5.      Affirm the promises God has made to you concerning your situation and speak them daily.  Refuse to allow the enemy to cause you to doubt God.

I promise you that if you are intentional about implementing these 5 things during your waiting season, you will be able to reclaim your peace and joy.  You will learn how to wait on God and not become agitated or antsy that He is taking too long. Say this affirmation with me: Today, I affirm that I will not be moved by my situation but only by the word of God.  Nothing that I am facing or going through will strip me of my peace, joy or faith in God.  I know that the promises of God are yes and Amen and they belong to me.

The Power of Prayer | How Praying Will Changed Your Life!

Have you ever felt like what could go wrong, was going wrong and no matter how hard you tried things did not seem to work out?  It seems like when you take one step forward, you had to take two steps back. Each day you give it 110% percent but you just are not seeing the fruit of your labor?  If that is you, the next thing you need to do is pray because each day you will experience some level of spiritual warfare and prayer is what allow you to turn the battle over to the Lord..  

It is so easy to get caught up with our problem and situation, because of the stress, discomfort or frustration of the situation, you just want it to be resolve. Which causes you to take the bull by the horn and tackle the issue head on.

Lord knows if anyone is known to jump head in to tackle a problem, it would be me.  But over the years, I have learned that my works is only half the battle and saying half is an overstated.  My works is just a small piece of the puzzle.  Praying to your Creator is a more powerful force that has to be at the forefront of your issues and circumstance. If you are ready for a shift in your life, remember these three things:

1.) You Can Do Nothing Without Him

The Words tells us in John 15:5 I am the vine, you are the branches, He who abide in me and I in Him bears much fruit, but apart from me, you can do NOTHING. 

This scripture is so powerful.  It says with God, you can do much but without HIM you can do NOTHING, ZIP, ZERO.

There have been many times in my life where I tried to resolve problems in my own strength.  Often times it left me exalted and frustrated but when I lead things with prayer, things are much easier.  When you lead with prayer, God gives you the guidance and direction you need, when you listen to His instructions, then the problem seems to shrink and resolving the issue becomes so much easier.

As a daughter of the King, your Father wants to please you but you must seek Him for guidance. 

       2.)    Your Father Wants to Give You the Desires of Your Heart

John 15:7 If you abide in Me and my Word abide in you, you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you.

So the first order of business is abiding in Him, then He will abide in you, then you make your desire known to Him and He will do it.

Do not make the mistake of taking prayer as a simple exercise or regiment of a ‘quick' two minute chat or obligation as you lay in your bed at night or before you eat a meal; prayer is a life changing experience that helps you get in tune with God's plan and purpose for your life.

2.)God Has Given You Dominion Over Things

In addition God has given you power to take control of the things in your life.  You exercise His power through prayer. 

Known that you have dominion over the earth. In Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

While you were never meant to have dominion over other people, you do have dominion over things such as your thoughts, actions, attitude, your time, your goals and your aspirations.  Which means you have dominion over your schedule, so you have to take the time out to sort out your day and following God's will, using prayer to command your day and your week. Each morning when you wake up, I challenge you to spend the first 15 minutes in quiet time with God.  During this time, enter in prayer and command what is needed in your life.            3.)    Command Your Morning with Prayer

Each morning when you prayer, be sure to command your morning. Commanding your morning is calling things as if they are already done in your life just as God instructs you to do in Romans 4:17 and believing in faith even though you do not see the results with your eyes.  This is just not saying words out of your mouth.  See the word “command” means to direct with authority, to give orders, to have control or authority over to rule.  So when you go to command your morning, be sure to open your mouth, and speak from your diaphragm, do not be timid or shy but speak with boldness and confidence as if it is already done.  

As you pray and command your morning, you can use this model for prayer 

MODEL for Prayer |ACTS model;

A=Acknowledgement: A stands for ‘acknowledge’ who God is! He is our mighty God who cares for you.  He  died on the cross for our sins, and was raised again to glory! He is Jehovah-Rapah our Healer, Jehovah our provider, & El Shaddai - The Mighty One.  Praise the Lord for these blessings.

C=Confession: Understand during your confession time with God, there is nothing wrong with admitting to God your shortcomings and sin, both the known and unknown wrongs you have done, and the things you have failed to do.

T=Thanksgiving: After receiving the forgiveness of Jesus, proceed to ‘thanksgiving’. Thank Him for everything He has done for you. Your very life is in His Hands; there is nothing that you do that He has not enabled you to perform.

When you start off your prayer basking in the glory of His presence, that same glory will rub off on you. You will begin to see God’s heart as our own; it will not be difficult for us. 

S=supplication: Then, to approach our Heavenly Father with supplications. You make your requests known to God; you ask for healing for your mind or family member, you ask for help for your thought life, or you ask for a deeper walk with Him.

Prayer does not change God; and it does not necessarily change your circumstance.  Prayer changes you by equipping you with everything you need to get through your current situation.  Realize you have to depend on Him for the fabulous life He wants you to have.

Always remember to pray like it all depends on God and work like it all depends on you!

Make no mistake about it; God wants you to live abundantly above what you could ask or think. Do you believe His promises? Will you pray to Him starting today?
